Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 20, 2026
Shiba Stuff is a participant in affiliate programs that allow this site to earn commissions when readers click through and purchase products. This page explains exactly how that works, who pays whom, and what it means for the editorial recommendations on this site.
The programs we participate in
Amazon Associates
Shiba Stuff is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
When you click a link on this site that points to Amazon, that link includes a tracking tag that identifies Shiba Stuff as the referring site. If you buy the linked product (or anything else on Amazon during the same session, within Amazon’s attribution window), Amazon pays Shiba Stuff a percentage of the sale.
Chewy (via Impact)
Shiba Stuff also participates in the Chewy partner program through the Impact affiliate network. When you click a Chewy link on this site, the link routes through Impact’s tracking system and identifies Shiba Stuff as the referrer. If you make a qualifying purchase at Chewy.com, Shiba Stuff earns a commission.
Chewy commissions, like Amazon’s, are paid by the retailer — not added to your price.
What this costs you
Nothing. Affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer out of their own margin. You pay the same price you would pay if you went directly to Amazon or Chewy without clicking through this site. There are no markups, no bundled fees, and no hidden charges.
How affiliate links affect what we recommend
Both Amazon and Chewy carry hundreds of thousands of pet products, and roughly all of them are linkable in their respective programs. That means the choice of which product to recommend is independent of whether we can earn a commission on it. We can earn a commission on almost anything either retailer sells.
What that means in practice:
- We recommend products we’ve personally used with our own shibas, or that we’ve specifically researched against shiba-relevant criteria.
- We do not accept payment to feature specific products. Recommendations are not for sale.
- Where a product fails on shiba-relevant criteria (escape-proof harness fit, chew resistance, coat care, etc.) we say so — even if it’s a top seller we’d earn more on.
- When we use both Amazon and Chewy buttons on the same product, you should buy from whichever is cheaper or more convenient for you. We earn either way.
Disclosure on individual posts
In addition to this page, individual posts and product pages display affiliate disclosure where affiliate links appear, in compliance with the FTC’s Endorsement Guides. The standard footer text — “As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases” — appears site-wide.
Sponsored content
If a post on Shiba Stuff is sponsored by a brand — meaning the brand has paid for placement, provided free product in exchange for review, or otherwise has a financial relationship with the post beyond standard affiliate commission — that post will be clearly labeled at the top as “Sponsored” or “Gifted” as appropriate. As of the date above, Shiba Stuff has not published any sponsored content.
